"Maharaja Madhav Rao Scindia Memorial Hindi Debate" was held in The Scindia School,fort on 30th September, 2018 .In all ten schools participated in this competition. Kaavya Sharma , Plaksha Gargasya & Shubhangi Anuragi represented our school .We were assigned four topics.
Topic for the first round was chosen by draw of lots on 29th September. Our school had to speak 'For' the topic 'भारतीय सभ्यता व संस्कृति युवा पीढ़ी के हाथों में सुरक्षित है'. Our girls participated enthusiastically and stood first in the qualifying round . Kaavya Sharma was declared the best speaker in this round. In second round our school had to speak 'Against' the topic : 'वर्तमान में भारत के लिए डिजिटल इंडिया एक सही कदम है'. Students performed well and were praised by the judges , chief guest & teachers of the participating schools.
In the final round- The Scindia School bagged the first position ,Sayna International School stood second and Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya bagged the third position . Kaavya Sharma received the second best speaker award.

It has been years since the country bid an emotional farewell to H.H Maharaja Madhav Rao Scindia. A small commemoration program was organised in Kamala Bhawan on 30 October 2018 to pay homage to him and Remember his noble works and thought. I was attended by the Vice principal, Bursar,. House Mistresses, House mothers staff members and the student council.A lamp was lit and floral offerings were made

On the 29 th of October, Usha House had put up their show namely the UGT, Usha's Got Talent: Chapter 1. The students of Usha House showcased their talent through different performances like The Chicken Dance by the junior most class, a sport-cum-dance performance by the sport champs of the house, a heart-winning violin performance, a folk dance featuring Nepal and a jazzy performance choreographed by the PSP's left the crowd with full excitement. Like any other talent show there were also rejected performances like The Rock On band and Shin Chan dance which brought a new energy in the crowd. The show was energised by the crowd-captivating anchors and our very talented judges who didn't think twice before flaunting their talents during the show. Our very talented judges gave a singing performance, a rap performance and a ramp walk. The 9 th grade also performed some songs dedicated to all the classes which moved the crowd. There was a JAM session too. At the end, the entire house grooved to the beats of the song 'Just Hold On' and then hosted the much awaited DANCE PARTY for the school.

Inter House Mehndi Competition was held on 24/9/18. Round pattern/ Ring pattern/ Bengal pattern mehndi were given to them as themes. They were supposed to select one out of these options. Beautiful patterns were made by all and they maintained the aesthetic sensibility of that particular theme.
The judgement criteria were as follows:
• Adherence to the theme, • Adequacy of design (palm and wrist part),• Neatness ,• Overall impact.
The house wise results were as follows:
1. Ist position was shared by Usha house and Vasundhara house, 2. IInd position by Madhavi house, 3. IIIrd position by Yashodhara house

As we know quiz are great way to provoke thinking and create interest for specific subject.
As a subject activity, on 22nd of September 'Maths Quiz' was organized by Mathematics department for students of class 9th & 10th from 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm.
Two students were selected from each section of 9th and 10th grade and 9th A & 10th A combined for Team A, 9th B & 10th B combined for Team B and lastly 9th C & 10th C combined for Team C.
There were 5 rounds for the quiz as below:
Round 1: Warm Up: Easy calculative or analytical questions were there to charge the students for the quiz. Each team was asked 2 questions of 5 marks each.
Round 2: Word problem: Each team was asked a word problem of 10 marks each. 2 minutes of time was given to finalize their answers.
Round 3: 'Blood Relation' based: Each team was given 2 questions of 10 marks each. 2 minutes of time was given to finalize their answers.
Round 4: Crossword Puzzle: Each team was given a crossword puzzle sheet to solve. 5 minutes were given to fill their crossword. Each correct entry was awarded as 1 mark, Total 10 mark for this round.
Round 5: Rapid Fire: Each team was asked questions for 2 minutes with each correct answer awarded for 2 marks.
After all the rounds the final scores were: Team A: 19, Team B: 50 and Team C: 37
The winner of the quiz was Team B i.e. students of 9th B and 10th B.

On the 19th of September 2018, the Indian School of Business and Finance conducted a workshop on Economics, finance and management for students of classes 11th and 12th, it was called 'PLAYNOMICS". During the workshop they demonstrated to the students how the international trade takes place, through an activity called "The Win-Win Game" The girls also gained knowledge about topics such as exchange of resources, specialisation of labor and price fluctuation. Through this game they learnt two international theories too. After the workshop there was an interactive session where the students' queries were ansewered.

A workshop on Foldscope Microscope was conducted by Dr S. Manvati and Dr S. Saini from Foresight Biotech Pvt. Ltd., on 19th September, 2018 for classes VI to IX and class XI & XII science stream students. During the introduction the curiosity in students was aroused and spirit of innovation was ignited with a message that thinking deeply about a problem leads to innovation. The origin and use of foldscope microscope was discussed. This was followed by hands on experience of using foldscope microscope. This was a learning experience for students.

Inter House choreography competition was held on 17 September 2018 .In this competition all house were performed and from each house 8-10 girls had participated. All the performed choreography in Mythology Theam. Madhvi House performed Mahisasur Mardani, Usha House performed Battle of Mahabharat, Vasundhara House performed Rakt Beej Vadh by Maa kali & Yashodhara House performed Draupadi Cheerharan .Through this girls learnt different story of Mahabharat ,different rup of Maa Durga and their style and costumes.They also get oppournty to exprees their expression in different ways.
Result was as follows : - 1st position- Madhavi House, 2nd position- Vasundhara House and Yashodhara House, 3rd position- Usha House

A delegation of 6 SKV students attended the Regional Round Square hosted by Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai from 11th to 16th of September 2018.
The program commenced with the opening ceremony along with the cultural performances.The keynote speaker for the occasion was Dr. Sam Taraporevala, the Director of the Xavier's Resource Centre. He talked about inclusion of team members, team work and leadership qualities. He also emphasized upon the need to explore the quality that each one has. After his address, the students were divided into barazza groups for an interactive and reflective session.
The keynote speaker on day two was Mr. Akul Tripathi, a traveller who emphasized upon the need to live one's life to the fullest and also to make the most of it.
The delegations were taken to Versova beach on the last day where both, students and the teachers actively participated in the cleaning the beach.
Some other activities such as tie and dye, marble painting and paper bag making were organised. The keynote speaker on the final day was Mr. Om Dhumkedkar, the first Head Boy of DAIS . He shared experiences of his life and enlightened the participants about prioritizing work and differentiate between important and urgent work.
This was followed by the Closing Ceremony which comprised of cultural performances by various participating schools along with the host school.
It was an enriching experience as all of us got a chance to explore, experience, empower and discover ourselves.

Inter House Computer Quiz (Written) was held on 17th Sep 2018. Questions from various topics like applications, hardware, I/O devices, Storage, Networking and current developments in the field of IT. There were 90 multiple choice questions to be solved in 45 minutes.

On 16-Sept-2018, 8 students of class 12th namely Sukanya Dubey, Jasmine Sachdeva, khushika Magnani, Vaibhavi Chandel, Pratika Bhist, Pallavi Poddar and 2 students from class 11th, Raya sengupta and Khyati Gargalong with counselor's S. Yadav and N. Fatima, attended a workshop on How To Fill Common App and Write SOP" at Usha Kiran Place, Gwalior. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, Regional Program Manager - South Asia, New York University Abu Dhabi Global Partner, Institute of International Education.
She took the participants through the common application form filling procedure and shared tips for writing an statement of purpose for college admission.She also analysed examples of good and weak sop.
The session was very informative and will help the participants in filling online application and write sops with ease.

Rocketry challenge Astronomy workshop was conducted by a team, lead by Astrophysicist Mr Sarvesh Bharadwaj, from SDRO Innovative Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for classes VI to X on 15 th and 16 th September,2018. During the introductory session discussion on the need for launch vehicles and the various types of launch vehicles was discussed. Each student made a rocket from the given kit (plastic bottle and paper) and launched it by building air pressure in the bottle with the help of cycle pump.
Students enjoyed the activity; there were prizes for quickest, neatest, most creative and farthest going rocket in each session.

Imagination is the key to creativity and children can be trained in many ways to develop stronger skills of imagination. One of the ways is painting. Our school organized an Inter House Face Painting Competition for Senior Category on 11th September 2018 in the Painting room . The Theme of the competition was ''Butterfly With Flowers''. Criteria of Judgement - Adherence to the theme. Innovation, Colour Harmony, Creativity
Four students participated from each House. Two as artists and two as models. Total number of participants was sixteen . The judges were : Ms.Manjula Rathod, Ms. Kavita, Mr. B. Rao.

Team of 25 girls went to Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar to participate in the IPSC Taekwondo Championship, held from 10th to 12th September 2018. Performance of the Girls was outstanding and well deserved. SKV was awarded with the Winner's Trophy in all the categories of U-14, 17 & 19 and received over all Championship Trophy for the year 2018.
In total SKV Team won 14 Gold Medals 09 Silver Medals and 01 Bronze Medal.

Hindi poetry writing competition was held in the library on September 10, 2018. Sixteen students from all houses participated in the competition. The time duration for the competition was one hour. Participants got sixteen topics on the spot. From those topics, they had to choose one topic.
The topics were the Flight, Feeling, Morning star, Reservation, Njjhar, Change, Memory, Floods, Dream comes true, Word, Labour, Colour of Holi, Inter connections, Aim, Move on and Youth.
The participant's thoughtfully penned down their ideas during the competition.
The Judgement was based on Relevance to the topic (20), Creativity/ Style and originality (10), Harmony of the words/ presentations (10), Language (10) and Clarity of Imagery (10). The pieces were checked by Ms. Indu Chaturvedi and Ms. Adarsh Sharma.
The Results for Hindi Poetry Writing Competitions were as follow: B. Mohita from Madhavi house got the first position with 79/120. Second position was bagged by Devagana Sharma from Vasundhara House 78/120 and Anshvana Agarwal got the third position 77/120 from Yashodhara House.
The house results for the Hindi article writing completion were as follow:
Ist position = Vasundhara House, 2nd position = Usha House,3rd position = Yashodhara House

An interhouse fancy dress cum elocution competition was organised in school on 10 sep 2018. The theme was Contemporary Personalities from the field of politics , corporate and sports .Characters impersonated included Imran Khan , Mischelle Obama , Indra Nooyi etc. Two participants from each house participated in the event. The event was judged by a panel of 3 judges on criteria such as performance , speech , content , costume and overall impact.
The result of the event was- KHUSHIKA MAGNANI 1ST (U), VRINDA BANSAL 2ND (Y), MUSKAN KAUSHIK 3RD (M)

Inter House Turncoat Debate Competition for the Senior Category was held on 10th September. The topics were given to the participants on the same day by drawing of lots. Each House was represented by two participants. Each participant presented arguments in proposition of the topic for two minutes and opposition for two minutes.
The topics were : 1.Artificial Intelligence is the Biggest Threat to Human Existence, 2. Democracy has been a Success in India, 3. GST Will Give Boost to Our Economy, 4.Students Should be Allowed to Enter Politics, 5. Are We Happier Than Our Forefathers?, 6. The Biggest Threat to Earth Today is Industrialization, 7. Social Media is a our Best Buddy, 8.Technology Will Rule the Future Classroom impressi
The judges for the event were Mr Sanjay Sharma from Knowledge Foundation, Mr Peter Strange, faculty, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya and Mrs Naina Dhillon, Vice Principal, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya. The judgement criteria was : 1. Content (20 Marks)- Argument to support the topic, Quotations/facts/data supporting the argument, 2. Delivery (20 Marks)-Body language-gestures/ mannerisms Intonation, Pronunciation and articulation, 3. Overall Impact (10Marks)- Use of appropriate vocabulary, Adherence to the time limit, Ability to convince the audience
After the completion of the event, Mr Sanjay Sharma addressed the gathering and appreciated the participants for their confidence and presentation skills.
Mani Agrawal from Yashodhara House won the competitionfollowed by Kaavya Sharma from Vasundhara House and Khushi Lokwani from Vasundhara House.
Vasundhara House was declared the overall winner.

On 2nd of September, students got an opportunity to attend GCCQC workshop at ABVIIITM organised by QCFI. The theme of this workshop was "Igniting Mind for Innovation through Quality Concepts", where various schools and companies participated with full enthusiasm. The chief guest was 'Mr. Lakhpati', he has been winner of national quiz thrice and was also awarded with many other prizes for his good deeds. Students observed different case studies like "Scope for hope" by Oxford Public school, "MENTORS" by teachers of Rise Inter National School, etc. Students analysed how the presentation can be made alluring and manifest and also the how the QC is helpful in our day to day life.

IPSC Dance fest was held on 31st August to 4thSeptember 2018 in Assam Valley School Assam. Fifteen Girls from class 9th to 12th was escorted by Mrs. Meghna Sharma and Mrs. Kavita Pillai for this Fest.
Sixteen Schools were participated in four different Dance Events like Solo Classical Dance, Group Folk Dance, Semi Classical Dance and Wertern Dance. Our school Participated in all events. In solo classical we performed Kathak dance with Shiv Vandna, different Bols and in expression part we did Mohini Bhasmasur, in folk dance we performed Chhau dance of Purulia,in semi classical dance we performed Ardhnareshwar through Bharatnatyam and in western dance we performed hip hop dance from. Through this girls had good Exposure and got opportunity to give their best. They learnt a lot from this Fest. Result of this fest we got 1st position in Folk Dance Competition.

National Nutrition Week is celebrated each year from 1st September to the 7th September to make the people aware about the importance of their health and well-being. The objective of the National Nutrition Week is to enhance the nutritional practice awareness among people of the community. According to the reports it is noted that inappropriate dietary habits and less physical activity are the main reasons of weight gain and fatness among adolescents. On this Nutrition week we targeted this only. We displayed the posters showing the requirement of the calories for adolescents, men and women adopting to different activities, calorie value of the different meals they usually have and the amount of the calories they burn during different kinds of physical activities. Through this they can make out their health status by making a comparison between calorie intake and calories consumption. We also introduced the students to eating disorders which arise due to the faulty body image. Along with this Home science students also prepared different kinds of salad dressing by using different knives and cutters. Russian salad, Mexican salad, Sprouts salad and Potato salad were presented by them in an attractive manner.
