AFFILIATION
Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya is affiliated to the Central Board of
Secondary Education, New Delhi and offers education to girls from
class V to XII.
The medium of instruction is English.
CURRICULUM
The core curriculum prescribed by the CBSE is followed in classes
V-X. In class IX the student may choose between Hindi or Sanskrit
as the Second Language.
There are three subject streams offered in class XI and XII.
In addition to compulsory Core or Elective English, a student
has to opt for four other subjects :

Humanities History, Geography, Political Science, Psychology,
Fine Art (Painting / Dance / Music), Economics, Home Science,
Physical Education, Hindi.

Subjects in italics are compulsory in the stream. The subject
combination(s) offered in each stream depends on the number of
girls in a batch opting for the subject.
FACULTY
The school has qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching
staff. It comprises about 50 trained graduate and post-graduate
teachers, some of whom live on campus. This enables them to involve
themselves in all the activities of the school. The teacher-student
ratio of 1: 14 ensures attention to each child.
ACADEMIC RESOURCES
The school has a well-stocked library for books and periodicals;
well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology,
Home Science, Geography and Mathematics; two Computer laboratories
with Internet connectivity; and Art, Music and Dance rooms.
The Academic Block is a double-storeyed building with spacious
classrooms. A separate set of six classrooms comprises the Junior
School for classes V-VII.
An auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 is used for the
morning assembly and for school functions.
School Terms
I Term : April to October
II Term : November – March
Summer vacation is from the end of April to the beginning of July
Diwali vacation is from mid-October to mid-November.
EXAMINATIONS
Assessment of a student is on a continuous basis with a system
of three sets of weekly Unit Tests in July-August, August-September
and January-February.
In addition, there is a Half-Yearly Examination in December
and the Final Examination in March. The following weightage is
given to each of these tests and contributes to final assessment
for promotion to the next class :
