  Admission through Common Entrance Exam

ENTRANCE TEST & INTERVIEW


Admission to classes V-IX is on the basis of a common entrance test in English, Hindi and Mathematics conducted in the month of November on 21st November 2009 for the session beginning from 1 April 2010. Admission to class XI is in July 2010 after the class X Board results. Candidates need to clear an interview in late June/early July in order to qualify.

The cut-off percentage for the subject streams is as follows:

1. Science 75% in General Science and in Maths
2. Humanities : 70% in English and in Social Studies
3. Commerce (without Maths) : 70% in English, Social Studies and Maths
4. Commerce (with Maths) : 70% in English ,Social Studies and 75% in Maths

PROSPECTUS


It is available only in Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Administrative Office at Gwalior. It can be obtained from the School Administrative Office on payment of Rs. 300/-. On written request the Prospectus can also be dispatched by post through registered AD or courier on the desired address. For postal despatch, a demand draft of Rs. 350/- (inland)/ Rs. 400/- (foreign) drawn in favour of Principal, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, payable at Gwalior is required to be sent along with the written request to send the Prospectus.

REGISTRATION


The applicant must be registered with Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya to be considered for admission through an entrance test. The registration form is provided as a leaflet in the prospectus.
Duly filled registration form along with the registration fee and date of birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation should be submitted to the School. The School sends a letter of confirmation of registration along with the registration number after scrutiny of the registration form.
The registration fee details can be obtained from the School office. The registration fee is not refundable under any circumstance. The amount will be paid by Bank Draft in favour of the Principal, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, payable at Gwalior. Cheques are not accepted.

AGE LIMIT


On the basis of age, result in the entrance examination and the interview, the School decides the class to which the candidate is admitted. A medical certificate, in accordance with the prescribed form must be produced before admission. The School reserves the right to reject or admit any candidate, notwithstanding the stipulated rules in the Prospectus.
Girls are not permitted to remain in the School after completion of their 18th year, nor after failure in any class for two consecutive years. Girls are also not permitted to remain in the School on failing a public examination of Class X and Class XII.
