LOCATION
Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya is situated in the historic city of
Gwalior, ancient capital of the Scindias, the great Maratha
dynasty. It is easily accessible by rail and road.
Located in an area of 35 acres, just five minutes away from
the railway station and the bus stand, the school campus is
a haven of lush greenery amidst beautifully cultivated lawns
and seasonal flowerbeds and is home to a large number of birds
including peacocks. Sheltered from the din and pollution of
the city, the campus has mango and guava orchards, and stately
neem, banyan and ashok trees. The serene environment is ideally
suited for the best education that an institution can offer.
ACADEMIC RESOURCES
The Academic Block is a double-storeyed building with spacious
classrooms. A separate set of six classrooms comprises the Junior
School for classes V-VII. Laboratories SKV has two computer
centers equipped with modern hardware with all P-IV and P-III
machines and updated software with all machines
connected in
local area network. Computer education starts from class V to
XII. The internet facility is given to the boarders as & when required under the strict supervision of teachers.
Well equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry, Biology and
Home science. Recently a mathematics laboratory has been added
to make the subject of maths more interesting.Library SKV has
a library with a wide range of books and periodicals. An excellent
selection of Indian and foreign books, journals, periodicals
are there to satisfy the urge for referencing.
ACCOMMODATION
The students are accommodated class-wise. There are six hostels for resident students:
Kamla Bhavan, Gajra Bhavan and Vijaya Bhavan which are beautiful buildings of the old times when the campus formed part of the Palace grounds.
Usha Bhavan and Madhavi Bhavan each of which is a modern 100-bed hostel with dormitories, study rooms and a common room. These were constructed in 1997 and 2002 respectively.
Chitrangda Bhavan , a new hostel which was inaugurated in the year 2006 i.e on the occasion of Golden Jubilee year of our School. It is also a modern 150-bed hostel with huge dormitories, study room & common room.
Each hostel is under the direct supervision of a Matron who lives in the hostel. The Matrons report to the Hostel Superintendent. Teachers resident on campus assist in the duties of the hostels. The Principal and Vice-Principal are also both resident on campus to oversee hostel functioning.

MESS
The Maharani Chinkoo Raje Dining Hall is hygienic, spacious
and well equipped, and seats 450. The food service has been
contracted to an efficient and reliable caterer. Students are
served four meals a day and care is taken to ensure that the
meals are nutritious and balanced. The menu is planned in consultation
with the Mess Committee that has student representation.
There is a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food cooked
in the Indian style. A special diet on medical advice is supplied
to those ailing or convalescing. 
AUDITORIUM
The school has an auditorium, the Jiwaji Rao Scindia Hall, which was inaugrated by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, an eminent Sarodist in the year 1993. The tastefully designed hall is the nerve center of all school activities Cultural & Academic. Equipped with all modern amenities, the hall had complete renovation in the year 2006 i.e on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee year of the school. Efforts are on to provide the best acoustical system with Bose effects.
MEDICAL FACILITIES
The school infirmary, managed by qualified resident nursing
staff and female attendants, has provision for 20 patients.
A consultant lady doctor visits the school three times a week
for regular check-ups and consultation. In addition, a panel
of specialists and nursing homes is available for serious/emergency
cases.
SECURITY SYSTEM
There is an efficient security system put into practice round
the clock in and around the campus. There is strict checking
at the entrance and exit of any visitor to the school. All entries
are cross- checked and verified.
