Rules & Regulations
1 A calendar is issued to each student at the beginning of the academic year. Parents must refer to the calendar for information relating to functions, holidays, PTA meetings and schedule of tests and examinations.
2 A minimum of 90% attendance is mandatory. Any student whose attendance is below this is liable to be debarred from appearing for the final examination.
For the Board examination a minimum of 80% attendance is required.
3 Any student who is absent from the school must hand in a leave letter signed by her parent/s to the class teacher / matron on the first day she returns. Wherever possible, the leave letter should be submitted in advance.
4 All correspondence should be addressed to the Principal. The student’s class and school code number must be clearly mentioned.
5 Any change of address or telephone number must be notified to the Principal in writing
6 Payment of Fees
The school dues must be paid in time so as to enable the student to appear for the half-yearly and final examinations:
Ist instalment between 1st March to 31st March (Before 15th June in the case of class X pass students going into XI)
IInd instalment between 1st September to 30th September.
Delayed payment of fees will result in a penalty being charged.
7 Allocation of hostels to the students will be done at the discretion of the school.
8 All personal belongings should be clearly marked with the student’s name and school code number.
9 Every student is covered under personal accident cover. The school routine involves physical and other activities during the course of which a girl may be exposed to accidental injuries in spite of all precautions. The school will not be held responsible for any such eventualities
10 The following places remain out of bounds for all students:
- All roofs and terraces
- The kitchen, stores and staff room
- Hostel buildings during school hours.
11 Leave and Visitors
(A) A calendar is issued to each student at the beginning of the academic year. Boarders will be allowed to go home only on the weekends and festivals specified in the calendar.
(B) Girl’s are permitted a day outing with the authorized persons i.e. first round of blood relations authorized by parents on the second Sunday of every month unless mentioned otherwise in the school calendar. They are also allowed to go on a night outing with parents and grandparents only on the last Saturday of the month after 2 pm. No requests for extension of leave will be entertained.
(c) Girls are not allowed to leave the campus without an escort. Any girl doing so will be deemed to have broken bound and may be suspended even expelled.
(D) Only visitors who are close relatives and who have been authorized in writing are allowed to meet their wards on the second Sunday of the month.
(E) Visitors are not permitted on any other day. Visitors are not permitted to linger beyond the stipulated time thereby making it necessary for staff on duty to request them to leave.
(F) Visitors are requested to meet the Housemistress / Matron before meeting their wards, this is mandatory.
Visiting hours—10am to 12noon OR4pm to 6pm in the evening.
(G) In case of serious illness or for the wedding of a close relative or for some other important family occasion, provided it is requested only once in the term.
12 Telephone Calls
(A) Girls are allowed to receive telephone calls once a fortnight and in case of an emergency. They are allowed to receive incoming calls according to the schedule decided by the respective hostel. Parents may also speak to the House Mistress to check on their child’s progress.
13 The use of mobile phones/cell phones on campus is strictly prohibited and strict action up to suspension of girl or removal can be taken.
14 Health
(A) A cumulative Health Record for each boarder is maintained in the infirmary. At the time of admission this record must be completed by a physician and duly signed by the parents. The school must be kept informed of any illness occurring during the vacation so that it can be entered in the record along with details of medication given.
(B) Children are not to be given any medication to keep with them. Any boarder taking homeopathic medicine must inform the Nursing Sister.
(C) Permission for mid-term medical check ups will be granted only in exceptional cases.
(D) Parents are advised to have their child’s eyesight tested once a year during the vacation
15 Money and Tuck
(A) No cash, tuck or valuables are allowed in school. This is a rule which must be adhered to strictly, and any lapse is immediately punishable by forfeiture of the outing for the month. Valuables will not be the responsibility of the school.
(B) Girls are not permitted to keep money in their possession. Pocket money will be issued by the school from the as and when required. Any cash found in a student’s possession will be confiscated.
(C) No tuck is permitted, except Bournvita / Milo / Horlicks / Boost. Food packets sent through post will be confiscated. Any food packets sent to the gate will be returned.
(D) Toiletries are supplied through the school tuck shop.
(E) Girls are not allowed to have any dealings with the photographer, any other vendor or office peon for any purchases.
(F) Girls are not permitted to have cellphones, expensive jewellery and cosmetics in their possession
16 Uniform
Uniform must be adhered to strictly.
(A) Each Girl is required to get two sets of coloured clothes. New students will need to bring six sets of coloured clothes to be used until their uniforms are issued to them.
(B) Garments such as mini skirts, tight pants, sleeveless or strappy blouses and T-shirts are not allowed to be worn on the school campus.
(C) Shoes or sandals with high heels are not permitted.
(D) Boarders will wear only school and hostel uniforms on campus.
(I) On working days the following minimum jewellery is permitted
(i)
Small studs in the ears to be worn only in the ear lobe. No dangling ear rings or ‘balis’.
(ii) A single kara for Sikh girls only.
(iii) No gold chains, if a stone is to be worn for religious reasons, a girl must wear it on a strong black thread round her neck.
(iv) No nose rings or FINGER RINGS or bangles are allowed. Any lapse will be punishable by confiscation of the item for the rest of the term.
(II) Girl must either plait her hair or wear it in a pony tail. No dyeing, perming or coloring is permitted
17 Birthdays
(A) Birthdays are celebrated every month in the house. A boarder is allowed to spend up to Rs.300/- on her birthday.
(B) Parents are not allowed to visit or take daughters out on their birthdays.
(C) Parents may ring up their daughter to wish her on her birthday at 9.00 pm in the hostel.
18 Withdrawal
(A) In case a student is to be withdrawn, an application to this effect must be made in writing.
(I) Within one week of the declaration of results of the annual examination for classes V – IX & class XI.
(II)By 15th June in the case of class X.
(B) Transfer Certificate will be issued only after all clearance formalities are completed including clearance of dues.
(C) If a student admitted to the school as a boarder or day scholar withdraws either from the hostel or the school during the term, she will forfeit the entire term fees paid.
(D) Caution money will be refunded in the next session following the session the student has left the school, and only to those for whom the school-leaving certificate has been issued.
NOTE :-
1 The Principal reserves the right to withhold permission for an outing with any person, even though authorized by parents, if she feels necessary to do so in the interest of the girl and / or School.
2 Close relatives would mean the immediate family, grand parents and real aunts & uncles and first cousins.
3 Minor / School going brothers or sisters will not be allowed to take girls out.
